Metal detecting's just fine, when the diggings are good
But my dang machine's busted-it aint doin what it should
The thing keeps telling me I got me a large copper cent
But the pulltab I just dug aint gonna help pay the rent
Up early in the morning at the first crack of dawn
Looking for clad on somebody's newly mowed lawn

Cant make any money on what I aint gonna find
Its really making me crazy, I'm losing my mind
The ground's getting hard, I cant dig anymore
Back stabbin landlord's bout to show me the door
Gonna sell all the finds that I dug up in the past
They just turned off the heat,gotta sell em real fast
