Metal detecting is allowed in designated state parks but only in designated location. Click on the following link for a list of these parks. Parks closed to metal detecting: (Red Colored) Note: Many of these parks are closed do to their "Historic Nature", however some were closed do to a few careless individuals that didn't follow the Metal Detecting "Code of Ethics" (see this link, click here). Please follow these simple rules to prevent future park closings.
